February Reflection

I handed in the Stage One report! The start of this month has felt so busy. I feel proud of my work as I really struggled with the academic and critical writing that this project required, not to mention the literature review. I am happy with the primary research that I conducted, each participant was very helpful in giving advice and opinions on my topic area and I gained valuable insights. I think I worked 10 hours a day non-stop for the last week trying to get everything done! I proofread my work as well as my friends to make sure spelling, punctuation and grammar was good, basic but essential for a professional piece of writing.

I particularly struggled with motivation with this project as the thought of how many words we had to do was very concerning, this was the biggest and most challenging project, as well as it being the first piece of work that counts to our degree – I did not want to mess it up.

I have realised that I produce some of my best work under pressure, I am someone who thrives when they are pushed for time. Is this a good thing? I’m not sure.

I also started planning my Brand Me portfolio by setting up my Wix page and creating some initial logo designs for my personal branding – this is new for me as I have never had a website or blog before. I dislike talking about myself in general so this may be a challenge as I must mention my skills etc in my portfolio. It’s also hard to understand yourself sometimes, as others may think you have strengths and weaknesses in different areas.

I want to crack on now with the Stage Two as I feel semi behind because of my extension, however I am feeling more confident about the next stage as it is completely our own work and less academic and theoretical than the last piece of work we did. I have a few ideas from the insights gathered from the Stage One report.

Quote of the month – “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
